This set tells the story of the plane of Lorwyn as it undergoes its cyclical transformation into the darker realm of Shadowmoor. As the magical Aurora approaches, the once-bright, pastoral world—home to tribes like kithkin, elves, merfolk, and giants begins to change in subtle but terrifying ways: memories fade, personalities warp, and familiar places twist into dangerous reflections of themselves.

The inhabitants struggle to understand and resist the coming darkness, but the Aurora is inevitable, erasing Lorwyn’s innocence as it remakes the plane into a harsh, nightmarish version where fear, paranoia, and survival dominate.

This story centers on this loss of identity and the tragic acceptance that Lorwyn and Shadowmoor are two faces of the same world, endlessly replacing one another.
